Just Finished Making Another Hmong Hat!

This project took me a lot longer than I expected but I’m pretty happy with the end product. It’s pretty simple to make but if I had the option of buying one or making one I would probably just buy it. However, I enjoyed figuring out how to put it together.

I love the glittery fabric and I picked one with a pinkish purple pattern because there is no such thing as too pink!

The most tedious part was making and attaching the tassels.

  1. Can you make a video or post step by step instructions? I’ve seen vendors sell the siv ceeb with the finge and embroidered cloth already connected — was not sure how to put it together? I did purchase one but it’s really tight…it was the biggest size they had…so usually if I don’t make my own hats, none of them fit 🙁 thanks!

    1. Right now, I’m busy preparing my Grandpa’s funeral. I have a couple of other projects to finish before NY as well. I forgot to film a tutorial but I’ll try to see if I have more pictures from my second hat. Since you already bought one, I would recommend deconstructing it so you see how they put it together. If they already sell the two pieces all you would need is black fabric, interface, and siv ceeb for the base.
